Flickr user xhuxhaxhu has made some great-looking desktops, but this one is particularly beautiful. Here’s how she set it all up.
Of course, keeping all of the widgets in the centre means you lose access to them when you need to get to work, but if your system is locked, or you have this on a separate screen, you can get some benefit from it. Either way, none of it is so critical that you’d miss it when it’s time to start working. If you want your Windows machine to look like this, here’s what you’ll need to set it all up:
- The misty mountain wallpaper by photographer Ryan Voetsch.
- The Rainmeter system tweaking and monitoring tool for Windows
- The SQplay skin for Rainmeter to create the music player on the desktop
- The Simplesentencethree skin for Rainmeter
- The Minimal Typography skin for Rainmeter
- The Elementary skin for Rainmeter
- The Google Search skin for Rainmeter
It’s quite a few things to put together, and she’s tweaked them all so they fit together nicely. Still, it shouldn’t be too hard to assemble, and if you run into trouble, you can always check out our guide to customising your desktop with Rainmeter or head over to xhuxhaxhu’s Flickr page to ask your questions.
