Learn How to Move Like the Avengers

Learn How to Move Like the Avengers

Your child’s love of superheroes and their need to get up and physically move their bodies around are colliding in the most brilliant and endearing way. Marvel has joined forces with Les Mills and a group of fitness instructors to lead kids through a five-minute workout in which they learn to punch, kick, block, fly and drop the hammer, Avengers’ style.

The short, immersive workout is being shared by P.E. teachers everywhere right now as a way to get kids up and moving for a few minutes inside their own homes during the pandemic:

Fair warning: older kids who are at or approaching “tween” status are likely to find this babyish and/or cheesy — just ask my 10-year-old. It’s really best suited for the 4-6-year-old (maaaaybe up to 7-year-old) age range.

Once you and your kids have learned how to move like Avengers, if you’re so inclined, researchers at Solent University in the United Kingdom are studying immersive physical activity and have a 5-10 minute survey you can fill out about the experience.
