Android/iOS: Snapchat may have invented the Stories format, but it didn’t take long for the rest of the internet to steal the idea. Now even Imgur, the meme haven originally created as an image-hosting service for Reddit, is offering its own take on Stories with a new feature called Snacks.

Imgur isn’t a social media app like Snapchat or Instagram, so Snacks isn’t a carbon copy of Stories. Instead, it borrows a few design ideas (full-screen view and autoplay) to offer up a curated stream of GIFs meant to “highlight new themes” on a daily basis. TechCrunch notes that it feels more like Vine than Instagram or Snapchat, though it’s still pulling from the wider Imgur community rather than just your friends.

To access Imgur Snacks, just open the Search & Explore tab by tapping on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the screen. You should see the new feature at the top of this page. Then just tap on one of the highlighted images to jump in.

Snacks is included in Version 6.0 of Imgur, which is available now for iOS but hasn’t landed on Android yet. The update also adds a new “Feed” feature that lets you follow specific people and topics. You can find your Feed in Imgur’s home tab up top next to the “Most Viral” tab. From there, Imgur will suggest new accounts and tag to follow, and let you scroll through a vertical feed of photos and GIFs.
